The IUCN World Conservation Congress

The IUCN Congress will be held in Marseille from 3 to 11 September 2021 and will be organised in a “hybrid” format, meaning that those who cannot attend the event in person will be able to follow and participate in some components of the Congress remotely.

The IUCN World Conservation Congress is where the world comes together to set priorities and drive conservation and sustainable development action. IUCN’s 1300+ government, civil society and indigenous peoples’ Member organisations vote on major issues, action which guides humanity’s relationship with our planet for the decades ahead.

The various components of the Congress are therefore maintained, but a number of events, such as Campus and Sessions, will be entirely virtual.
