SAVE THE DATE! OCTA’s side-event at COP26

OCTA is glad to invite you to its COP26 side-event “From policymaking to implementation: regional innovative solutions for climate change adaptation” to be held on Tuesday 9 November at 16:00 (GMT) in the framework of the COP26 EU Pavilion in Glasgow.

This year,  the 26^th edition of the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) is taking place in Glasgow, UK. For two weeks, the COP26 summit will bring together thousands of participants with the view to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

OCTA will be attending the COP26 and lead a side-event on climate change adaptation at the regional level. Organised in cooperation with the Government of the Balearic Islands, the Basque Government and the European Committee of the Regions, this event will showcase initiatives for climate adaptation policy innovation (roadmaps to climate, energy, and blue economy transition), as well as practical implementation projects to shift towards new economic and territorial climate governance models with concrete impact in the territories. The event will focus on 4 leading experiences at regional level and their global replicability.

OCTA will be represented at the COP26 by the delegations of the Vice-Chair of the Association, Greenland, and of French Polynesia, and will count with a video message from the Chair of the Association, the President of New Caledonia.

Update: In light of the Cop 26 taking place in Glasgow and of the side event being organized by OCTA in the EU Pavilion, the New Caledonia Member of Government responsible for sustainable development, environment and ecological transition, Mr Joseph Manaute, has shared via video an update on innovative regional solutions on climate change adaptation.
