The overall long-term objectives of the Volunteering at Felis- project are:
To improve the overall quality of life in Otrobanda.
To integrate Curaçoan people, culture, and identity into the European Union.
To generate a flow of people ideas and cooperations between Curaçao and the rest of the EU.
To enrich the toolkit of Volunteers. Volunteers will gain experience in a multicultural environment, and improve international communications skills by achieving a basic level of at least 3 different languages.
Increase our partners’ experience in multicultural projects and link with a European country which is not geographically situated in the European zone.
Consolidate FELIS’ position as an authoritative educational agency in the neighborhood
To increase the number and improve the activities that FELIS delivers to the local community.
Reduce self-discrimination, and school drop- out in the target group
Increase alphabetization associationism, employability and entrepreneurship of the youths.
Increase the Otrobanda neighborhood’s social cohesion, safety and reduce poverty and crime in the long run.
Generate a growing bilateral flow of volunteers, youth and youth workers between Curçao and the rest of Europe.
Raise awareness about the history of Curaçao, and make it part of EU folks identity narration.
