Member States approved on 12 May draft conclusions of the Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council on “Tourism in Europe for the next decade: sustainable, resilient, digital, global and social“. This text will be adopted on 27 May by the Competitiveness Council.
The draft conclusions stress the importance of rethinking tourism services to make them more environmentally friendly, innovative and resilient.
It also invites the Commission to present by September 2021 an overview of the available envelopes in the EU budget 2021-2027 and the Next Generation EU Recovery Plan.
A guide on EU funding for tourism has already been made available by the European Commission: https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/tourism/funding-guide_en
