The call for application for the Implementation of the Grant Scheme for Biodiversity in the Outermost Regions and the Overseas Countries and Territories (LIFE-2021-BEST) is now open. Following the opening of the application period today 16 December 2021, the deadline to submit proposals is 26 April 2022 17:00:00 Brussels time.
The objective of the Grant Scheme is to set up a small grant facility for projects in the EU Outermost Regions (ORs) and the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and sustainable use of ecosystem services, including ecosystem-based approaches to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The proposed project shall implement calls for proposals from 2022 onwards to finance small grants (up to EUR 100 000) for biodiversity conservation and / or restoration action in the EU’s ORs and OCTs located in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Amazon, Pacific, Polar and Subpolar and Macaronesian Regions. The budget allocated is EUR 32 000 000. One project will be awarded with an expected duration of 120 months.
